Morang- The 303rd Prithvi Jayanti and national unity day was observed by organizing various programmes in Koshi Province on Saturday.  

At a programme held in the premises of Koshi Province Assembly, Assembly Speaker Ambar Bahadur Bista garlanded the image of founder of modern Nepal, Prithvi Narayan Shah.

Poush 27 is marked as the Prithvi Jayanti in Nepal.

Speaker Bista reminded that Prithvi Narayan Shah had not only unified Nepal but also established Nepal and Nepalis' identity. He was heroic and honest, which the new generation can learn. 

"We began celebrating Prithvi Jayanti this year in a grand manner in province. It will be continued," he informed.

On the occasion, Secretary at Province Assembly, Gopal Prasad Parajuli, shed light on contribution of the founder of the nation, Prithvi Narayan Shah, in unification of modern Nepal.

The programme was attended by Province Assembly employees, media persons and security agencies.
