
New TV Show On Discussion About Caste System Airs Today Onwards

The organized campaign against caste-based discrimination #DalitLivesMatter, is launching a television show called Caste Conversation, focusing on discussions about caste based atrocities, discrimination, violence, and exclusion.
Kathmandu-The organized campaign against caste-based discrimination #DalitLivesMatter, is launching a television show called Caste Conversation, focusing on discussions about caste based atrocities, discrimination, violence, and exclusion. Starting today, the program will be broadcasted on Himalaya Television at 9:30 PM and the Dalit Lives Matter YouTube channel at 10:00 PM. The first season of the program will consist of 12 episodes.
The show will feature youth representatives from all seven provinces, with people from diverse communities, genders, languages, faiths, and physical conditions sharing their lived realities, experiences and opinions. Each episode will include seven participants, who will discuss a range of topics interconnected to the caste system, including but not limited to - gender, love and marriage, land ownership, media, art and literature, technology, justice, and education, political representation, law, digital divide, climate, mental health, institutional discrimination, intergenerational thinking.
In a press release, Pradip Pariyar, the founder of Dalit Lives Matter and the executive producer of the program expressed that the show will spark new debates, given that discussions on various aspects of the caste system have not been adequately addressed. The program was directed by Shanta Nepali, and the program is hosted by Bridhika Senchury.
