Bagmati- While the current fiscal year, 2081/82 has made halfway since the enforcement, the Bagmati Province spent less than 12 percent of the annual budget.

Information officer at Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning in the province, Suraj Paudel, said the five months of the current fiscal year posted only 11.42 percent of the annual budget.

The province government had brought the budget of Rs 64.54 billion. Out of which, it was able to expend only Rs 7.37 billion in the past five months.

Similarly, of the spending, the capital expenditure is meagre, the officer added.

The Office of Chief Attorney stood top on spending- 36.22 percent of the total, while Province Assembly secretariat Rs 23.90 percent. The least spending was of the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Cooperatives- only 2.57 percent.

The information officer clarified that the first four months of the fiscal year has the trend of low budget spending. Some of the projects come into effect only after Kartik, so the spending would increase later, he added.
