Bishnu Kanta Ghimire has officially assumed the role of President of Rotary Nyatapola, along with the club’s newly formed board of directors.

The club’s 6th Installation Ceremony for the Rotary year 2025-26 marked the official transition of leadership, with outgoing President Rtn. Rakesh Ram Shrestha handing over responsibilities to incoming President Bishnu Kanta Ghimire.
In his acceptance speech, Ghimire announced that the club will continue its long-standing commitment to community service, with a key focus this year on promoting commercial coffee farming in rural regions. He shared plans to work in collaboration with farmers to boost coffee “Black Diamond” production and enhance rural income through sustainable agriculture.
The newly formed executive committee under the leadership of President Bishnu Kanta Ghimire reflects a dynamic blend of experience and fresh vision. Rtn. Rakesh Ram Shrestha, the Immediate Past President, continues to serve the club as Sergeant-at-Arms, ensuring continuity and mentorship. Rtn. Raman Shrestha has taken on the role of President-Elect, while Umesh Pandey assumes responsibilities as Vice President. The administrative leadership is further strengthened with Krishna Kunwar as Secretary and Prabina Amatya as Treasurer. Rtn. Bijaya Sharma has been entrusted with the role of Club Learning Facilitator, and Apsara Timilsina takes charge as Admin Director. The Service Committee will be led by Director Upasana Sharma, joined by enthusiastic members Dipesh Regmi and Prabin Adhikari.
In other key appointments, Ritu Wagle will lead as TRF Director, while the International Committee will be headed by Anisa Joshi, supported by Utsav Singh Adhikari, Krishma Joshi, and Pravesh Lal Joshi. The club’s Public Image Committee will be jointly overseen by Basu Maharjan and Ajay Aryal. Membership development will be under the guidance of Directors Sunaina Shrestha and Prabin Maharjan. Providing strategic counsel to the executive team are President Advisors Sagar Lohani and Suvarna Thapa.
District Governor-Elect of Rotary International District 3292- Nepal & Bhutan, Rtn. Vishnu Bahadur Karkee, the chief guest at the ceremony, expressed confidence in Ghimire’s leadership, citing his past achievements as a successful Rotaract leader. He remarked that the club is set to reach new heights under his guidance.
Assistant Governor Rtn. Dr. Buddhiman Shrestha emphasized the importance of fellowship and networking events, stating that they play a vital role in personal development and strengthening internal bonds among members.
During the ceremony, Rotary International Zone 6 Membership Coordinator Nominee Sanjay Giri and Assistant Regional Membership Coordinator Nominee Rtn. Jitendra B. Rajbhandari were honored by Rotary Nyatapola for their achievements and contributions.
Club founder and past president Bijaya Sharma extended heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary District for its continued support in the club’s endeavors.
In addition, new memberships were granted to Kamal Kumar Basnet, a journalist, and Prasanna Ghimire and Priyanka Gautam, both active in Nepal’s mountaineering industry.
The event was graced by the esteemed presence of several distinguished guests, adding significance and vibrancy to the occasion. Among the dignitaries were former Governors of Rotary District 3292 : Yogendra Man Pradhan, Chintamani Bhattarai, and Rajendra Man Serchan. Their continued involvement serves as an inspiration to the Rotary community. Also in attendance was Governor Nominee IP Dhakal, whose presence marked the strong alignment between the district leadership and the club’s forward-looking vision.
A number of senior and respected Rotarians also participated in the program, including K.B. Kshetri, Bhuvan Kumar Shrestha, Dinesh Manandhar, Bishnu Hari Dahal, Rajendra Shrestha, Lakphuti Sherpa, Laxmi Khanal, Amit Giri, Binita Hada, Sumira Shrestha, and Anil Thapaliya. Their collective wisdom and legacy continue to shape the values and impact of Rotary across the region.
Adding further prestige to the event, prominent personalities from various professional fields expressed their solidarity and commitment to supporting Rotary’s community-driven initiatives. Renowned Master Chef Santosh Sah, The founder of BB Air, Bishnu Bahadur Dhakal, and Nepal Table Football Association President Uttam Ghimire were among those who pledged their support. Celebrated singers Reshma Pun and Sirjana Khatri also expressed their enthusiasm to collaborate with Rotary in its mission of social impact and service.
