Patan (Lalitpur), Dec 17, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has laid emphasis that all the three tiers of the government should be people-centric and service-oriented.
At a programme organized on the 106th Establishment Day of Lalitpur Metropolitan City here today, Prime Minister Oli shared that the incumbent government was
committed to resolve problems of the people and fulfill their wish of development.
"Local governments have now become citizen-friendly. Works are done to remove anomalies through the use of information technology. Though the development has
not moved ahead as per expectation, it has taken pace," he mentioned.The Prime Minister shared, "Maximum efforts have been carried out to reduce poverty, physical
infrastructures like bridges have been constructed. The state has been carrying out maximum efforts to uplift the living standard of the people as well as foreign exchange reserve has increased.
The journey of progress never ends." PM Oli further said as Lalitpur is a prosperous cultural city of the country, it could contribute in tourism development by protecting and promoting heritages as well as
places having cultural importance here.
Similarly, lawmaker Prem Bahadur Maharjan mentioned that Lalitpur Metropolitan City has headed towards the journey of prosperity while Minister for Labour, Employment and Transport of Bagmati Province,
Prem Bhakta Maharjan, suggested Lalitpur Metropolis to provide digital service. Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chiri Babu Maharjan shared that heritages are being conserved through consumer committee
while Deputy-Mayor Manjali Shakya urged the government to declare Lalitpur Metropolis as the capital of handicrafts.On the occasion, the Prime Minister honoured lecturer Shiva Gopal Risal, Narayan Maharjan,
who helped rescue operation during Gorkha earthquake, cartoonist Mohan Shyam Maharjan and Naya Patrika correspondent Shiva Hari Ghimire.
